About Me
Hi, I’m Alexis.
This is where I tell you I always intended to be a writer.
After all, my “career” started in 3rd grade when my first and only play (ha!) The Witch, The Scarecrow, and The Ghost Dog debuted before a group of well-trained elementary students.
But that’s not the story. The truth is that when I graduated with my literature and political science degree in hand, I was eyeballing law school to become a child advocacy attorney. I’d taken all of the classes, written the research papers, taken the practice LSAT, finished the internships, and then, it didn’t happen.
It wasn’t a failure – I just didn’t even try.
When it came right down to it, I was scared that I’d spend the time and money only to find out that I didn’t like it. I’d heard too many horror stories.
Instead, I accepted a writing internship and then another, then an editorial job, then a communications opportunity, and then another, and so on until…
I’m here to do more in this world than make a buck.
As the number of bylines increased, so did my disgruntlement with corporate culture (and the politics within it).
Finally, I thought, I’ve gotten results here, surely, I can do it elsewhere and do it for GOOD instead?
So, I did.
Now, through Sprig, I get to collaborate with teams and leaders who wake up each day with a single goal: Make their communities better.
